From KSR:

It looks like TV Teddy will be seeing a whole lot less screen time this postseason. According to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman, controversial college basketball official Ted Valentine has been barred from this year’s NCAA Tournament. In an interview with ESPN, Valentine said he was being held out of March Madness due to the “fallout from the incident in which he turned his back on North Carolina’s Joel Berry II during a game back in January.” “This is not right, it’s just not fair,” Valentine told ESPN. “It hit me like a ton of bricks. I’m being punished unjustly.” Valentine said NCAA coordinator of officials, J.D. Collins, informed him of the decision on Saturday afternoon. For those that don’t remember, UNC’s Joel Berry went up to Valentine to discuss a missed foul call in their game against Florida State, where TV Teddy turned his back on him on national television. quote:

I happened to be with my little brother when I saw that on KSR last night. I showed it to him on my phone. When he saw the video of his disrespecting that player, he said a few things about Teddy that I can't repeat here!

The fact that TV Ted would do that to a player just reinforces the notion that he isn't fit to be a referee. This man craves attention and does what he needs to do to get it. I hope he never refs another game.

They have never caught any refs throwing games. I am sure it has happened. I have seen one sided games called in basketball and football. ever hear anything about that

Valentine won't be missed and it will be a better tournament because of it. [ 03-14-2018, 06:03 PM: Message edited by: catmandoo ]
