Box Score

This team of ours is offensively challenged. There is not a fundamentally sound player on the entire squad. I fear we are in for a very long season with a squad that will not be ready for play in March. Far too many turnovers, poor ball handling and passing and very poor defensively.

I would generally be excited in holding the opponent to 33% from the floor!

the last few seconds with a long three and then hitting the side of the board showed what freshmen do on their own. Also the last play was on their own since Coach had no timeouts!!

I personally thought the defense was better last night, and the overall energy. However, the offense was terrible. When we were pounding it inside we looked very good, but then we started to just run the dribble drive, or the handoff at the elbow for a guard to drive in. We need to run more sets to get it inside. I still want guys to attack the basket and be aggressive, but right now those are leading to alot of forced layups because we have no one that we can kick it out to. I liked Richards energy and effort overall, I liked what Gabriel brought; but those really are the only guys I was pleased with overall. This team is a mess right now, and for some reason Cal does not seem to be able to reach them.

Someone explain to me how Diallo is getting so many minutes? Does Cal actually think this team is better with him on the floor? I am sick of seeing it. Richards and Gabriel played 11 and 10 minutes less and were more productive. Does he think he has to get Diallo drafted? Just play the guys that are producing the best, and giving you the best effort. To me we should be seeing a ton of Alexander, Vanderbilt, Gabriel, Richards, Jones, and Washington. I would be happy to see less of Diallo and Knox. Maybe if they start getting just 12-15 minutes it would light a fire under them, if not, they can stay on the bench. Even Jones had 7 points in just 12 minutes last night, and at least Vanderbitl had 6 rebounds in 12 minutes. Alot of our struggle is Cal is not playing the guys that truly play the best TOGETHER, and I really don't understand why. He has alot more experience at all this than me, but it just seems very obvious to me from a distance. I could be way off, but I would like to see what would happen if the minutes between Knox and Diallo were switched with Richards, and Gabriel.

I'm with UKMAN, when your defense forces your opponent into hitting just 1 of every 3 shots you attempt? I'd take those numbers all season long!
