Kentucky basketball needs a shooter for next season and arguably the best available option, Pittsburgh graduate transfer Cameron Johnson, is on campus right now. He began an official visit with the Wildcats on Wednesday and it wouldn’t be a shock if he decides to make Lexington his next home by Thursday.
The 6-foot-8 guard from Moon Township, Pa. — hometown of UK coach John Calipari — averaged 11.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists and hit 41.5 percent of his 3-pointers for the Panthers last season as a redshirt sophomore. He’s on track to graduate from Pitt this spring, leaving him eligible to play immediately (and for two seasons) at another school.
