I just finished watching PJ Washington's high school team play in the Dicks Sporting Goods tournament in New York. I thought he looked the best of any of our recruits in the Mickey D All Star game and he certainly showed what he could do today as his team beat Oak Hill in the Dicks tournament in New York. He is a good ball handler, has a nice three point shot, good size and can rebound and is an excellent passer. He will probably be our team leader next year. If we can just get Bamba to go with the talent we have coming in already, we could be an outstanding team once again next season. PJ was game MVP. His team will be playing again tomorrow (Friday) at 5pm on ESPNU for anyone wanting to watch him as a member of his high school team.

We need to remember that the guys starting in the MCD's were mostly the top kids, 1-10. The only one we have is #10 Diallo already on the team. I would think that most of them were wanting to be the man on their college team so they were looking out for #1. Seeing how our guys were at the top of the assist and rebound stats that they were playing team ball just like we want them to do when they get here. If we get to keep some of them for 2-3 years that would be great. Let the Dukes and UNC's lose some 1 and dones for a while.

PJ's team lost in the tournament to the number one team in the nation out of Indiana. He had a terrible shooting night, making only 3 of 15 free throws. His team made only 13 of 37 free throws. I still like his game, he appears to be the complete package even though he had a somewhat off game yesterday.

Ray I watched part of the game and wasnt impressed at all with pj. Seemed to me that this game wasnt important to him as he appeared to not play hard and was joking and smiling a lot.

I would have had my game face on especially in front of a national tv audience.

He was all business on Thursday when I saw him play, looked like a totally different player yesterday. He does not seem to like hustling too much, has all the physical tools but has to have the heart and desire to go with it.
