I just want to give a shout out to Humphries for his defense on that last play. What a time to get a block. At least he didn't get the ball after the block, get fouled, and then slam the ball. [Smile] Glad he could make that play.

He still has a long way to go before he can stay with the top centers he may face.

I definitely know that, that's why i m so happy he made the good defensive stand at the end. I thought they were going to go inside with Bam out and get a final basket, but they didn't. He is still too slow, and his hands are not the best, but he did what was needed on that last play before our free throws.

I agree with Bama he has a ways to go. The good thing he is getting better and looks like he will continue to get better.

Humphries is 7 foot tall sophomore who has the size to be a very good center if he keeps working on his game as he sure isn't their yet.

What really hurts him is he isn't very quick and it's hard to teach quickness.

There are quickness drills to help you with foot work, but you can only do so much with a big guy!

Very few big guys have quick feet. Hakeem Olajuwan had some of the quickest feet for a big man I ever saw!

I don't know about big men but two of the fastest players to play for the Cats were Rondo and Wall.

Cauley-Stein had quick feet, and he was fast too. Ditto for Carl Anthony-Townes. Both of them were amazing light on their feet for 7-footers.

I would put Fox, Ullis, Monk, and Bledsoe into the 'fast guards' list along with Rondo and Wall.

It's amazing that 2 of the 3 big guys that we've mentioned were former soccer players. Makes you wonder what kind of drills can be taught in soccer!

Humphries has a big upside and hopefully we can look forward to watching him improve his game.
