The Kentucky Wildcats will once again have a loaded non-conference schedule when the 2016-17 college basketball season tips off.
This year, UK will face the UCLA Bruins for a third-straight season, though this time, it will be in the friendly confines of Rupp Arena. According to a press release from UCLA, the Bruins will travel to Rupp in the return game of their home-and-home series on Saturday, Dec. 3.
That date is now official, and it looks like UK's annual rivalry game with the Louisville Cardinals will soon be as well. According to Kentucky Sports Radio, this year’s clash between the Cats and Cardinals will be played on Wednesday, December 21.
The reason it;s during the week this year is because Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve fall on the two possible Saturdays those two would normally play. This is good news for everyone involved as it will hopefully allow both teams to have at least one of those holidays off so players and coaches can go home to be with their families.
