Sad, sad story!!!
Former Kentucky basketball star Ed Davender is on life support after suffering a heart attack, Kentucky.com reported on Wednesday.
Former UK star Kenny Walker said Davender is fighting for his life at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.
“It’s a serious situation,” Walker told the paper. “He had a massive heart attack. He’s on a ventilator fighting for his life.”
Davender played at Kentucky from 1984-88. He scored 1.637 career points and is eighth in UK history with 436 assists.
He began his career under Joe B. Hall and played three seasons for Eddie Sutton at UK.
In 2010, Davender was sentenced to eight years in prison and fined $70,000 for his role in a scam involving Kentucky basketball tickets.
“We’re praying for our brother and our former teammate and friend," Walker said. "We love him and we’re just trying to send out positive energy.”] Link

I heard on the radio that he had a long history of heart problems. It also puzzles me that the media has to put negative things about a person as well as the good, when talking about a man who is dying. The media has no moral code, even when a person is on their death bed.

I too felt the 70,000 fine and time in jail over the UK tickets had no place in that article. The article to me should have been about a former great UK player who was in a fight for his life ONLY, no side line stories attached.
