Marcus Lee had 12 rebounds in UK’s win over Alabama Tuesday night and after the game talked about the play of Alex Poythress (14 points) and Saturday’s game at Vanderbilt.

On Poythress being in an upbeat mood while being out …
“I mean, Alex was always ready for this game. We kind of saw it in his eyes as he went through our practices, and once we saw that he was fine, that he was feeling fine and that he was mentally fine, we knew he would be great.”

On what Poythress brings to the court …
“Physicalness. We’re a really small team, especially with him and Isaac, we’re able to have bigger bigs coming in now. So his physicality really helps the team.”

On if he likes playing at Vanderbilt …
“I actually love that court. That’s probably one of ,my favorite SEC courts just because it looks totally different. It looks like a theatre, so I love the way it’s made and created.”

On if it’s tough to play at Vanderbilt …
“I mean, I think it’s just something you have to get used to. It’s just different and some people hate it and some people like it.”

On if it’ll be easier with Tyler Ulis on the floor since the benches are on the end and not the side of the court …
“I think it’s definitely easier having Tyler on the court no matter where I am. He’s able to communicate with us to the best of his abilities and we kind of just function better with him there.”

Marcus Lee has sure progressed in his time at Kentucky and has turned out to be a very good team leader who the freshmen really look up to for guidance.

Lees's inability to play with his back to the basket has officially driven me mad. Not to mention Poythress just not showing up game after game then dropping 20 against a nobody. I'm sorry but I'm frustrated with these two. I expect more out of players who have been in Cals program for as long as they have. They have also had the opportunity to play along side some of the best young bigs the NBA has.
