1. Which matchups are you most looking forward to watching?

Jerry Meyer: Definitely Lonzo Ball (UCLA signee) versus De’Aaron Fox (Kentucky). The point guard ranking at the top with those two guys is one I think about a lot. I think that point guard is probably the strongest position in this class, and those two are at the top of it. So that would be No. 1. After that, Malik Monk (Kentucky) and Markelle Fultz (Washington) at shooting guard and Josh Jackson versus Jayson Tatum (Duke) on the wing. When you look at the bigs, Bam Bam (Kentucky signee Edrice Adebayo) versus T.J. Leaf (UCLA), I think that’s an interesting one because of contrast of styles. Bam Bam is such an athlete, and while Leaf is athletic, he has such a skilled game. That will be fun to watch.

4. Kentucky had the most players selected of any school in the game with four. What do you expect to see from those players?

Meyer: With De’Aaron Fox, he’s just a great point guard. He does everything. I think he’ll be fun to watch for the fact that I think he’ll be a facilitator. So often at the McDonald’s Game, guys go out to get buckets. They get shot happy. But I don’t think he’ll be out there to get points. I think you’ll see him distribute. Malik Monk — expect to see some highlights from him. He’s so athletic. Everything just depends on how he shoots the ball. If he shoots it well, he could be the MVP. Adebayo is a guy who can really run the floor and rebounds. Guys like that tend to really shine at McDonald’s. I remember Alex Poythress had a great game because of his energy level. Sacha Killeya-Jones, I don’t know that his game really translates to an all-star game setting. He’s more of a finesse player, which doesn’t always work in that kind of setting. He’s a great player, but I just don’t know if his game is suited to that kind of setting.

Sometimes "WE" make the games tougher than they should be. I/E Auburn most recently!

Yeah, I had a Hoosier fan today telling me he was enjoying our basketball season. I told him after 4 final fours in 5 years 2 championship games and 1 title. I got nothing to complain about!

Now, if it has been 30 years since my team last won a title and 15 years since our last final four, I might be a little upset! Hint, Hint, IU! LOL

Indiana fans are awfully quiet these days. They aren't even competitive like they used to be either.

Crean may be looking for a new job if he doesn't get things turned around pretty soon.

Wow. Sorry to take this thread in a different direction, but this little snippet stood out among all the speculation:

quote:
I remember Alex Poythress had a great game because of his energy level.
So, Poy had high energy and played well in the McD AA game. Hmmmmm.....

When Poy comes out to play, really play, and leaves it all on the floor, he can be dominant. But, for whatever reason, he just doesn't.

Come on, Alex. We need every last joule of energy you have... every game. Otherwise, your senior season will end in a whimper, not a bang.

Tip,

I was caught off guard by that same comment and thought the same as you.
