It's something which really would be good for college basketball.
There’s been a huge push to reduce the men’s basketball shot clock in college basketball from 35 to 30 seconds and it appears that the NCAA rules committee will seriously consider making that change.
According to a report from ESPN‘s Andy Katz, rules committee chairman Rick Byrd, the head coach at Belmont, said the change could be made during upcoming meetings in May.
“Now there’s a real decent chance,” Byrd said to Katz. “It’s pretty evident a lot more coaches are leaning that way. The opinion of coaches on the shot clock has moved significantly to reducing it from 35 to 30. And all indicators are pointing toward that.”

A shorter clock will put a premium on scorers. There aren't many jump shooters to be found in the modern era. They either take it to the rim or shoot the three. You don't see many mid range jump shooters anymore. [ 04-28-2015, 01:46 PM: Message edited by: boomdaddy ]

Imagine how many more shot-clock violations we might have forced last year with five fewer seconds?
I like this. It favors the teams with superior talent. When it comes to crunch time, many possessions will end with somebody having to create their own shot. Should be fun!

If it got down to 24 like the pros, it sure would favor the teams with shot blockers and those that can defend the three

I would love to see the shot clock shortened. More individual shot creation, better passing and improved mid-range jump shooting would be a big plus for the college game IMHO.

I happen to like the clock where it is now. I enjoy the setting up of the offense, running the offensive sets, the defensive play, etc., a shorter clock means more "me" plays rather than team play IMO. If the clock is shortened please just go down to 30, no less.

jersey, I don't think they have any intention of going below a 30 second clock.

I'd be surprised if we don't see more turnovers and less scoring from this!
