If anyone should know good guard play it's Bryce and his dad.
Perhaps no one can appreciate the scrutiny that University of Kentucky basketball players face daily more than Bryce Alford.
He’s the starting point guard at UCLA and his father, Steve Alford, is the coach. He’s also the latest NCAA Tournament buzz after he made four 3-pointers in the final 3 minutes, 40 seconds here Thursday to give the Bruins a stunning 60-59 upset win over sixth-seeded SMU. Alford’s last 3-pointer came on a rare goaltending call with only 13 seconds to play and UCLA down two points.
Alford would like to get UCLA to the point Kentucky is — 35-0 after the Wildcats’ win over Hampton in the late NCAA game here Thursday.
“It is two of the best, it not best, ever in college basketball. We know we are expected to win every game, as are they. We definitely have respect for them that they have been able to win every game like they have,” said Alford.

Alford's Three point shooting has improved as the season has progressed!

Alford shoots under 40% on his 2 point shots and 84% from the line.

I doubt he is quick enough to guard some of the quicker guards.
