Good read but Kentucky has gotten a couple very good players out of Kentucky that were not mentioned Rajon Rondo and Patrick Sparks.

The list goes on and on. The coachs through the years always had Kentucky players on the team even when the talent level in the state wasn't the best.

Cal has carried on that tradition even with walk-ons at times. This year we had 3 Kentucky players on the team.

Tod Lanter from Lexington
Dominique Hawkins from Richmond
Derek Willis from Mt. Washington

The Harrison kid who started the wave of 3-pointers in the 31-point comeback at LSU. He may be the leading scorer in Ky high school history.

Also, the little point guard who was nicknamed "budha". Played for Tubby.

Thanks, GB. I couldn't remember Harrison's first name. He could really shoot, though. Draud could light it up as well. I was at the Highlands/Holmes game back in the 80's when Draud scored 63 - without a 3-point line! He would simply dribble a step or two over half court and shoot and it went in just about every time.

Draud ended up playing for Vandy where he had a good career and one of their better all time scorers. I believe he lives back in Kentucky in the education field.

This is weird. From khsaa.org's website and no mention of Draud. I know he scored over 3000 points. Forgot about King Kelly Coleman. I was wrong about Harrison too - I thought he was the leading scorer at one point.

Draud was Asst. Principal at Dixie Heights in Erlanger, where he should've gone to school. But Highlands somehow recruits all over N. Ky and gets away with it.

Wow. Turns out Draud only scored 2865 points in high school. That's odd.
