You can bet this team will listen to Cal and follow his guidance.

Kentucky coach John Calipari said local fan interest has soared as well.

“My first year here it was pretty crazy. The second and third year were pretty nutty, too. Last year it built to this. This year has gone from the Bahamas till now, so it's probably been the longest run of craziness. I can tell you this: the tickets this year for home games have been the hardest tickets since I've been here,” said Calipari on Monday before UK beat Georgia 72-64 Tuesday for its 30th straight win this year.

With the Southeastern Conference Tournament next week and then the NCAA Tournament, national media attention is only going to intensify what Calipari calls the “clutter” that can cause distractions.

"I talked to them about it yesterday a little bit and just said, 'You've got to stay the course, and that's the one thing that can break us down,’” Calipari said Monday. “Like I said to them, you're going to have people around that are trying to make you like them and they're going to say whatever they've got to say, which is, 'Ah, you should shoot more, you should play more. Why is he going to him and not you? What about this? You really don't like that guy, right? You're the man.'

“ I mean, again, it's all to enable, it's all to make them feel good and, 'Come with me, listen to me, talk to me.' That's the stuff they've got to be mature enough to deal with. Now, they've been great. I'll tell you that as we keep winding it down there will be more."

Calipari has had the same conversation numerous times during the season with his players and went back to the talk ESPN analyst Jay Bilas gave the Cats during the exhibition trip to the Bahamas in August.

“I could put my head in the sand and act like they're not talking to anybody and they're not looking at the Internet and they're not looking at social media and they don't have girlfriends, they don't have their AAU coaches, high school coaches. And you won't believe this: Those coaches could care less about anybody else on this team except that young person. That's just how it is,” Calipari said.

"And so I could put my head in the sand and say, 'Ah, that's not happening here. This is Kentucky.' It's worse here. So these kids are strong, they're mature for their age, they've dealt with it, they've done it.”

Calipari has told his players that teams that play with anger can see that turn to fear.

“I want you to play with joy. Play with joy. Have fun. Joy always beats anger, negativity. 'What's the worst thing I can say?' versus 'How can I build something up? How can I make this (positive)?' I just told them about it: Just play,” Calipari said.

The Cats are 30-0 after Tuesday night’s win at Georgia even though Calipari has kept emphasizing if UK gets “dinged” before NCAA play it would have “no bearing” on what this team could still accomplish.

“If guys get better, if we worry and focus on individual players' improvement, if we keep focused on them and they keep focusing on each other, all the other stuff happens. It's all day to day here,” Calipari said Monday.

Calipari said his veterans have helped UK’s freshmen, but the first-year players have also helped the returning players off last year’s team that lost in the national title game.

“I mean, people say, 'You're freshmen.' Yeah, because they know it's not on them. It's on those veterans. And the veterans know, 'You know what? If I'm not at my best, I know that young kid's going to be going nuts, and I'll be fine. Get my legs underneath me, I'll go back and I'll be fine.' They're feeding off one another, and that's what's made this go,” Calipari said.

"And I keep coming back to, they've allowed this to happen. This isn't about me. This isn't about some genius move I've made. This is about these players are allowing this to happen. They're keeping the clutter away. It is there, it is beaten on them, eating at them. It's there. They're pushing it aside and they're looking after each other, which I'm really proud of. I mean, it's hard. And here, it's like a coat you wear 24 hours a day."

Calipari explained Monday why his team has been able to rise to the occasion in big games as it did when it overcame a late seven-point deficit to win at Georgia thanks to shutting down the Bulldogs the last 5 1/2 minutes.

“ I think again, the difference is you have a lot of guys and a lot of room for error. What I mean is, I only need five play well. And when you have nine that you're playing and you still have another guy or two if you need them, but the nine you're playing, I only need five of you to play well. And if nine are playing well, then we're … but five playing well, that's OK too. And if you want to play, get in there and ball,” Calipari said.

They'll listen to him sure, but they still have family and friends that they listen to as well. That's the clutter they have to avoid!

As long as they stay focused for about another 5 weeks, the rest will take care of itself!

It's going to be exciting but we will have some tough teams to play and from now on one bad night and it's over when the NCAA tournament starts.

It's the only way to do it you have to take one game at a time.

Unlike years ago, say the 80's and 90's there wasn't near the different forms of mass media and social network like we have today. More people can talk to you and clutter your mind these days than there used to be

I think you can forget about "anyone" cluttering Cal's mind. He is his own man and is going to do what he thinks best and that's the way it should be.

Cal is on the right track and he knows it. You can't win this many games in a row without doing a heck of a job coaching.

I doubt Coach messes with social media like the kids do! I honestly think he has someone on his staff do his social media stuff for him. At least quite a bit of it!

It's the dream of every coach to go undefeated. Perfection is utopia which few coach's ever reach. Cal is close to it and has a great chance to make it happen.

I just read 12 teams to have reached the 30-0 mark in men's college basketball which is scarry good and six of them won the national title.
