Author Topic: My rule proposal. PaulCat Player Member # 513 posted 02-28-2015 05:12 PM                    If a team losing by more than six points (two possessions) fouls in the final minutes of a game, the player who was fouled gets two shots, but he gets to keep shooting until he misses. The thought just came to me as I was watching the end of the UNC game. That last minute of play took ten minutes with Miami fouling the entire time, while they never got any closer than seven points. Posts: 124007 | From: vevay, IN USA | Registered: Sep 1999  |  IP: Logged SCWC Player Member # 2464 posted 03-01-2015 08:25 AM                    Five timeouts during a game are far too many with all the tv time outs, official reviews etc. They should give each team only one timeout per half, that would put a stop to these type of games between Miami and UNC yesterday. Most teams save their timeouts for the last few minutes anyway so why not just take them away. They get a three minute tv timeout ever 4 minutes during a game, that is 8 per game and if you add the 10 between the two teams, that is far too many and is extending the games much too long. That's ten time outs per game plus the four TV time outs per half which equals eighteen possible time outs per game. I don't know the actual length of time outs - so let's just say 2 minutes (but I know TV time outs are longer) - that right there is 36 minutes! Throw in the five or ten minutes per game where refs have to review a play, plus the extra time outs when a player fouls out! It's no wonder you can't finish a game in the 2-hour time slot.
