You can see that Towns learned to play from the outside in where in college basketball in the US you have to be a more on the block type player on both sides of the ball.
UK assistant coach John Robic: “They’re definitely trying to be physical with him, there’s no question. He’s finding that out. I thought in the first half last night he played very very well, even though he had a turnover, I think, on the first possession of the game. (He) held his position much deeper into the paint. When he’s aggressive like that and goes and catches the ball with two hands and catches it in tight—we like that. We just don’t like when he fades away or he settles for getting post position of the block and that doesn’t do us any good and our spacing is terrible. But he knows ad he’s working at it. We need to have some type of presence inside, whether it be from Dakari (Johnson) or Karl(-Anthony Towns) or Willie (Cauley-Stein) or Marcus (Lee). Probably the first three more than Marcus, he’s more of an offensive rebounder type. But we’ll get that. For Karl it’s just a little of bit of confidence and understanding how strong you have to be to play on the blocks.”

YOu know when teams are putting you at the line 37 times in a game they are REALLY getting physical with you!

That's why shooting your free throws at a good percentage means so much.

Dakari was down to 50% tonight which is somewhat unlikely!

Seems like our bigs picked up the majority of their fouls tonight trying to block shots!

Right now as a team we are shooting 69% from the free throw line on the season!

AS a team we're averaging 36.1 from three point land. Booker shooting 50.6% from treyville. Ulis is scoring at a 47.5% clip from deep!

Our bigs have to learn to go straight up when blocking shots and not go into the body of the shooters.

Our free throw percentage is getting better and would bet it will be in the 70's% percent before long.

Our 3 point percentage is fantastic and when you have shooters like Booker and Ulis it has to be awfully good!

I didn't realize this until MH posted it is over 47%. These two freshman are very special and are a huge part of our success.

What really is so good about our outside shooting is that it will open it up for our bigs on the inside to have more room to work and score.
