Louisville is playing Savannah State tonight. (I didn't know that was a state, I need to check my Geography.)
Louisville leads with a minute to play 39-5!

The team UL beat tonight actually beat Cleveland State.
UL plays Cleveland State on Wednesday night. And you guys thought we were playing a weak non-conference!

The big difference I noticed was all of my UK friends were pretty quiet after our blowout win on Sunday. The ul fans, on the other hand, were posting all over social media about the smackdown they put on Savannah State. I'm not sure that's really worth bragging about, but whatever floats your boat, I guess.

The sad thin is, UL plays Cleveland State tomorrow night. Cleveland State lost to that Savannah State bunch that got drilled last night. Rumor has it the womens team is dressing for that game!
Pitino will adress the media in his pre game presser and tell them that Cleveland State may very well be a top 5 seed team in next years tourney.

Seems to me that it is a little self centered to blast UL's coach on their score when we just did the same thing to a team!

Ed, you make a good point and we probably should have used Malone, Lanter, Floreal and Long more than we did although none of our better players played more than 20 minutes. Louisville on the other hand had 5 players who played 20 minutes or more.

The point I have been trying to make is that there is no way we should be playing teams like Montana State, we get nothing positive from playing that kind of team. Playing teams like Buffalo is where you learn about your team, not playing teams like Montana State. We would have been better off having an inter squad scrimmage than playing that game. I am no Pitino fan but he is doing nothing different that what Cal is doing at UK by bringing in the level of competetion we are seeing our team play.

Ray, you are right on and it isn't fair to the players or fans. I would really much rather see a intra-squad game than Montana State.

One of the problems is that we UK fans are such fanatics we would pay to see them scrimmage the cheer leaders. If we would refuse to watch these type of games I would bet eventually that some, if not all, would disappear from the schedule.

Not going to happen. We will continue to watch these fiasco's and I include myself. We are starved for any type of action from our Cats even if we know in advance that some of these games are little more than a joke. As Norm and others have said, this is all about money.

You are 100 percent right Handy, we may ***** about the level of competetion we are currently playing but as fans, we will pay to see it. I think the Montana State game might be the first game UK ever played that I chose not to watch the second half. I know I am getting fed up with the home schedule of high school caliber teams but as we all know, all the other major teams are doing the same thing and teams like Montana State get a guaranteed ten thousand dollar pay day which is good money by their standards and helps fund their basketball atheltic fund.

I THINK CAL IS NOT GOING TO LET HIS TEAM DROP OUT OF TOP 25 THIS YEAR LIKE WHAT HAPPENED LAST YEAR, I HOPE THAT TEAM IS BETTER TONIGHT, I KEEP SAYING WE SHOULD PLAY NORTHERN KY INSTEAD OF THESE TEAMS, WHY DO I SAY THAT, WE CAN BEAT THEM BUT THEY WILL CHALLENGE US, AND WE CAN WORK ON SOME THINGS. PLUS NKU IS A PRETTY GOOD TEAM. I WENT OVER AND WATCHED THEM PLAY. OUR LADY CATS WOULD HAVE GAVE US A BETTER GAME THAN MONTANA STATE. I REALLY BELEIVE THAT. CALL ME CRAZY IF YOU WANT.

I'm not sure who all is involved with scheduling teams. I figure Barnhardt has people who contact the AD's of these schools to see if they are interested in playing.
