Dakari Johnson rebounded from a loss in the McDonald’s game on ESPN last night with a win on ESPNU on Thursday. Johnson’s Montverde Academy defeated Oak Hill in overtime, 77-71, to advance in the National High School Invitational. Montverde will face Prime Prep, featuring 2014 UK target Emmanuel Mudiay, in the NHSI semifinals at 2:30 ET on ESPN2.
Johnson scored 17 points in Thursday’s win with 13 rebounds and seven blocks, and capped off the victory with a dunk in the closing seconds. USA Today’s Jason Jordan tweeted that the future Wildcat is a “MONSTER.”
