He will always be a top cat.
About the only thing former University of Kentucky basketball standout Jodie Meeks turned down during an autograph signing appearance on Thursday at Sportsville in Florence was the offer on a sign from a young female fan asking him to marry her.
Other than that, Meeks signed posters, pictures, prints, placards and basketballs and posed for photos with the estimated 500 or so fans from 5-7 p.m.
Admission to the autograph signing was free, and fans could bring some of their own items for him to sign, although for every one item they brought they had to purchase one. Many were than willing to do that and then some. "It's a way for me to give back to the fans and say thanks for your support," said Meeks, a second-round draft pick - 41st overall - of the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks. "I enjoy doing these and seeing the fans."
