Interesting article. They mention UK directly twice as examples of "not cheating". The first was about the 7,000 text messages that Patterson received in the last month of his recruitment (not all of which were from Gillispie, but who would want to bet that the plurality of them weren't from our man?) The second mention of UK was in regards to Gillispie's office overlooking the practice court. While it is not cheating, it certainly pushs the envelope vis-a-vis the spirit of the rule prohibiting coaching oversight of summer pickup games.
So, UK gets mentioned TWICE in an article about cheating, held up as veritable exemplars of stretching the rules.
Crafty? Yes. Necessary? Maybe. Ethical? You decide.

I think you need only to look at the source of this story to cast serious doubts as to its relevancy. SI is notorious about dredging up the negative side of things and blowing it up as the rule for all it's "bad boy" programs.
I guarantee if Puke has done any of these things you would never hear about it in SI.
