I am not a former D1 QB, but I agree with Mr. Maggard on his assessment of the RB position. [ 05-15-2015, 07:51 AM: Message edited by: boomdaddy ]

If experience relates to improved play I'll have to agree. If 3 and 4 star running backs relate to their ability to compete in the SEC, then I'll have to hope they can get better than last year. They are all around 195 to 200 lbs. To compete against the defenses in the SEC I would like to see them around 215 to 220 lbs. Of course the offensive line also has a lot to do with how well the running backs do on the field. With my up close view from the 30 yard line we were not very consistent in opening holes for the backs to get thru. Both the backs and the line will have to improve or we'll find it hard to get as many wins as we had last year. I can see a 4-8 record unless they play good enough to take at least 2 upset wins in the SEC.

Bottom line we will have to be "extremely" fortunate to get 6 wins this season.

And, we can't have a rash of injuries at the RB position.

We have to find a replacement for Dupree too as he is going to be missed big time. [ 05-23-2015, 11:03 AM: Message edited by: catmandoo ]

Hopefully there will be an increase in overall talent and depth on defense this season. Won't have Dupree, but better all around. [ 05-23-2015, 08:19 AM: Message edited by: boomdaddy ]

I guess I'll be watching the running backs on the big screen TV a lot this year. They are moving the recruit/family/athlete section from the 30 yard line to the end zone. Not sure I'll enjoy seeing them run at me or away from me. I'll get my first look at the new inside on Thursday morning about 7:00AM. I'll be helping them renumber all the seating in the stadium Thursday & Friday. Looking forward to seeing what everything looks like. I'm hoping the running backs are better than last year but not holding my breath.

I can tell you from first hand this team is going to vastly improved in all areas on the field.

I really like the change at OC. I predicted most of the plays last season and I am not a D1 coach. If I could predict what was happening, I am sure the opponents could as well.
