So I thought UK would be 7-11 in the SEC and I still think that is the case, but I am hoping to be wrong because even though at I had UK at 4-4 at this point I have had most games wrong:
I thought UK would have wins at this point over Florida/Georgia/Vandy/Arkansas prior to the season and have losses to Miss State/Texas A&M/Alabama/Tennessee to make them 4-4.
Crazy year. The only win I have had correct was Florida and the only loss correct Alabama.
The rest of the year I see the following so hopefully I produce the same pitiful accuracy.
Loss at Ole Miss Win vs. South Carolina Loss at Texas Win vs. Vanderbilt Loss at Alabama Loss at Oklahoma Loss vs. Auburn Win vs. LSU Loss at Missouri [ 02-01-2025, 11:52 PM: Message edited by: Trey Ball ]
-------------------- Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

Everyone of them could be a win or a loss depending if their defense is found and if the 3 pointers fall. I think we need close to 15 3 pt'ers each game because every team we play seems to hit more of them than they average. It looks like teams are discovering how to defend UK's defense patterns and maybe they don't get as many attempts. They don't win without them.

I'm resigned to the fact that Trey was correct and I was wrong. It will be hard for us to have a 20 win season. Right now there are a lot of SEC teams supposed to make the big show but several of them are going to fade off to the NIT. UK may be one of them unless they can start hitting 15-18 threes in these final games along with playing better defrense as well as making a better % of lay ups. Not much wrong with this team but a little over hype.

BC,
Other than defense, the main thing this team lacks is a shot maker and that was so evident in the first half.
When Ole Miss was applying intense ball pressure at every position UK did not have a single player that could beat their man off the dribble to create for themselves or for a teammate.
Put a Rob Dillingham type of player with these guys as a release valve and it would be a world of difference and you wouldn't have been down by 24 at half.
That is what I have seen that has been missing since the roster construction. A good defensive coach and good defensive players can take away "System" offense for stretches of the game and that is what teams are doing to UK and UK falls behind and since they can't apply on ball defensive pressure and turn teams over they cannot catch back up.
It is basketball 101. Talent matters. As John Wooden said, "I am a great coach because I have very talented players".
