Well we had to finally lose one that we wanted bad. Lanier decided to stay home and play for TN so his family could be there for every game. Looks like Jaxson Robinson is on deck next. Wooga Poplar is also still on the list too.
"I'm going back home," Lanier said. "I was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to come back to my home state and put on for my city and family. My whole family will be at every game next year, lord willing." [ 05-24-2024, 10:52 PM: Message edited by: Bama Cat ]

If he grew up in Nashville, then Vandy should be his school! I guess the education in TN still falls below the national level!

Again! He may be a little slow in math and geography. Not sure what the didtance difference between Nashville and Knoxville or between Nashville and Lexington, but it couldn't be a whole lot of difference. [ 05-26-2024, 10:18 PM: Message edited by: Bama Cat ]

So it’s a whopping 30 more miles to Lexington from Nashville than Nashville to Knoxville. SMH.

Pro blue, I believe you are right.
I’ve been watching the NBA playoffs and am really enjoying them. I’ve never watched a lot of professional basketball but I think I could become a fan. At least they make no pretense at being anything other than play for pay. [ 05-27-2024, 11:29 AM: Message edited by: handycat ]

Come over to the dark side handycat! I think I may be the only person on TCD that watches the NBA. Highest form of the great game of basketball.
Pacers had a chance this year, but blew games 1 and game 3 to the Celtics, but the Pacers have a young and exciting team.....much like Oklahoma City does in the West.
So much fun to watch the NBA.
-------------------- Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

Trey, I think I’m already on the dark side. I think I’ve watched Al the games in both the Pacers/Celtics and the Mav/Timberwolf series. Pacers have blown it, especially game 1.
If I’m going to watch play for pay, I might as well watch the best. They remind me of me a lot when I was younger.
However, I’ll always watch UK.

handy,
Agree.....UK has been the only team that I have watched for the last 5 or 6 years and I will continue to watch them as well, but no longer plan my life around UK games like I did between age 13 to 40......which has made the wife happy the last 13 to 14 years.

I started watching NBA games this year and pretty much enjoy them. The one negative is that every player thinks they get fouled on every single play, and then they pout and whine like a 3-year old throwing a tantrum. They're all a bunch of whining sissies.

I have tried, but I just can't get into the NBA game. I don't know why. I used to watch it back in the early 80's and as a huge Sixer's fan. I loved Dr. J. I just can't seem to get into it now. I will check stats on Kentucky players after games. I did get interested when Rondo was with the Celtics, but since then, I just can't seem to find myself enjoying it. I don't know if it is all the crying and whining, all the players taking time off and plays off, or what. I just can't seem to get into it at all.
