I long for the good old days before NIL and the Transfer Portal when everybody just cheated. Those were the days. [ 04-20-2024, 06:29 PM: Message edited by: handycat ]

Yeah. Funny how cheating is now legitimized. Incredible.

I could use a little back then right now. I understand Reed will now make millions, but when I was 18 400 thou would have been enough

Think about Will Wade at LSU - he was crucified for making an offer to a kid just two years ago. Now, that's just business as usual.
I think college basketball doesn't have but a few years left. At some point, each year just about all kids will enter the transfer portal to try and get more money. When a school like Dook loses seven kids to the portal in one year, you know something just isn't right.
Money and greed ruins all good things.

Kids demanding over a million dollars to play amateur athletics for a year is ludicrous. Sad part of it is that someone is willing to pay it.
I would like to see the NCAA at least have a salary cap. I suppose that would violate someone’s rights, every thing else does.
