As hard as I am on Cal for all his coaching shortcomings, he dis some good things today. Using Toppin to handle the ball alot, playing more of a sagging man, and even using zone. Those were all good moves.

Thats the type of D we should have been playing a in alot of our games. And Thiero, Collins, Ware werw all huge parts of this win. I hope to God they earned more of Cals trust. That was a hostile crowd, bad refs, no PG, and they found a way to get a freaking huge Win.

And of course, Reeves was amazing. It's cra,y to thi k just a few nights ago he went 4/17 and couldn't hit anything.

I'll admit I was not expecting a good showing today. And then when watching I kept waiting for the collapse to come. But it never did. Really happy for the team. That has to feel good getting this win.

I told my grandson that I was going to watch the game, but didn’t believe we had any chance of winning. I’m so proud of this team (and Cal) for this HUGE WIN! GO BIG BLUE!

I agree Ukman, with maybe the exception of Therio. I cringe when he is at the point.

I do the same, Handy. I love when Thiero is on the court, but he should never be the primary ball handler. He brings more energy than anyone and can jump out of the gym. I think he would be a pretty darn good player if he would've gotten some decent minutes throughout the year.

Thiero and Reeves were the only remaining guards on the roster. Reeves needed to be a big-time scorer for us to win, so the PG duties had to fall to Thiero. Certainly, it is rarely a good thing when you have to put a rarely-played freshman in charge of ball handling duties against a team that loves to press. But Cal made the best of a tough situation.

Many of us were questioning Cal's habit of putting a guard on the baseline to inbounds the ball to one of our bigs, but tonight, that paid off. I thought Toppin played GREAT bringing the ball up against the press. Toppin and Reeves were the stars, and Tshiewbe was the blue-collar workman. Love the effort and the outcome!

I don't like Thiero at the point, but I thought he was good on the floor tonight, and could be many other nights. He is definitely not a PG right now.

It was a very surprising game. I recorded it because I had to visit my son at a nursing home in Lexington. I told someone to not tell me what happened because I hadn't watched it but they blurted out that UK won. So I had an easy game to watch for once. The only time I made a sound was in the second half when the refs made some bad calls. For both teams. Like I said early this week, you make your shots you win, you miss them you lose.

We played a pretty good game for almost 40 minutes. There was a little let down in the second half when they cut the lead to 5 pts.

I don't think Livingston will be going anywhere next year. It appears at times he thinks he's the only one on the floor the way they slip up on him and steal the ball. He needs to be more court aware before he plays with the big boys. I would think Ware played his normal game. He contributed some but he still makes bonehead mistakes. Also I think we can forget Collins going anywhere. He can make some pretty plays but he also makes too many defensive mistakes. I believe Toppin will be ready for the draft. Maybe the only one on the team who might get drafted. Wallace has missed too many games to go to the NBA.

My final point is Oscar and Ware should try to clean their game up a little before they have to hit the exit for some of there over zealous play. Oscar could have been booted today very easily and I'm not sure if that would have meant he couldn't play in our first SEC game. We were lucky. And the play with ware could have been bad news also. The refs let them get away with so much I can understand them playing rough.

Just watched the game and was glad to see the composure the team played with in that environment.

I think they play better on the road now then they do at Rupp.

I kid you not after Wallace went out against Vandy I was begging for Cal to have Toppin initiate the offense while watching the game with my dad Wednesday night prior to his Chemo treatment Thursday morning. Glad to see Cal made that move against Arkansas without a PG on the floor.

Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

Absolutely Trey. I also thought that Toppin would be the most secure person to bring the ball up. Theiro plays a good game but mostly when he's not got the ball in his hands. Reeves is so quick he sometimes loses the ball when pressured. Not so sure what we can accomplish in the tourneys without Wheeler and Wallace.
