Despite being fully loaded deep into the depth chart, Kentucky is coming in at No. 10 in the AP pre-season top-25 rankings. While being ranked as a top-10 team wouldn’t be disrespectful for most college basketball programs, Big Blue Nation probably expected to be a bit higher early this fall. However, Kentucky would of course prefer to be outside the top-10 preseason rankings and instead find themselves in the Final Four next spring.

I'm going to reserve my expectations until after about the first 10 games. By that time we'll have an idea how we are going to handle the pressure against some of the other highly ranked teams!

We're about where we should be. I agree with MH, after Last season I'll reserve my expectations until we've played a few games.

On paper it looks very good. However we know things don't always go as expected for one reason or another. We have recruited good shooters before only to see their prowess not translate from high school to college. We do have a large amount of good shooters in practice and we'll have to just see if it translates to the regular season. We have all the ingredients for a great season and I'm more than ready to see one. Especially if it leads to #9.

Key word for this year's team is "Veteran". 1st time in a long time. We will do very very well this year imo!

Bama, two of those shooters are upperclassmen who are transfers from successful programs, and one of them is a returning player. Only Ty-Ty is a freshman.
I think they are proven shooters, who can and will perform for us.

They are all proven but we have to see what happens when they play together......or don't like last years team. I think it will be a final 4 team but we have to wait to see if what I think means anything between the lines.

Only time will tell but would bet Cal will have his team playing well by tournament time. [ 10-29-2021, 06:22 PM: Message edited by: catmandoo ]

Will there be any limitations on the number of fans that can attend the games at Rupp? My basketball expert wife believes that the inexperienced players need the fan support to increase their enthusiasm.

I seen on KSR that 22,000 seats have been sold for the season, only a handful left before every game is a sellout.
