Just terrible. Richards missed the free throw. UK gets the stop and Reid shoots a 15 footer. Why?

Then they leave them wide open for a three.

Tennessee all over again.

Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

Those are two terrible possessions and it's on the coach. How do we not go inside to Travis who has the advantage. It could also open up herro for a good look. Need a good possession here.

Travis had a good game with 14 points and 11 boards, going 5 for 10 from the field and 4-4 from the line.

We were lucky. Their best 3 point shooter had a terrible game. Our defense played a part in that but goodness that young man couldn't throw it in the ocean today.

The big reason we won the game was our defense on their talented 3 point shooters who went 8-27!

Magee was 0 for 12 from behind the three point line and Herro was the primary defender on him. The whole team knew where he was the second half, he did not get one uncontested three point shot shot that I can recall. He only had 8 points and his scoring average is 20.

I just do not see Washington being in a Ky basketball uniform ever again. I see his father is upset at Ky fans because no one who has reviewed the film of the Tenn game saw any injury and he was ok Sunday and Monday, only got a boot put on Tuesday. Something fishy here, wonder if he is going the route of the football players who would not play for their teams in the bowl games, figures he has his first round NBA draft position locked up. To go any further, we will need him next week and if his injury is bad enough for a hard cast, I believe his Ky career is over.

I said that if we win the defense is what will do it, and it did. I said we had to keep them to 7-8 threes and we did. But this game just shows what this team is capable of ir they want to play defense. All except for one freshman. Johnson does not know how to play a tight defense on someone. He always arrives late with a big jump after the guy shoots. He better start changing his ways or he won't last long in the NBA. He needs to learn that shooting isn't all there is to the game. So we have our best(?) two shooters who may think they are ready for the NBA. They may have some folks want them for what they may eventually be able to do but right now I don't see anyone on this team ready for the NBA. G league maybe. I don't really expect us to come out of Kansas City alive. Cal's wish list included the best PG in college ball this year and he just saved LSU from being put out today.

I agree SCWC.

I know back in the day when I was playing I played a game with a broke arm, went blind in one eye and my tally whacker was stiff the whole 2nd half. Took a bad fall at the start of the fourth quarter when that cute cheerleader did a back flip and I slipped in a slick spot that had developed under my feet. I just sucked it up and played through it. AND PJ can't play through a mild sprain. These guys are not as tough as we were.

From KSR, PJ's version of his injury:

quote:

We now know when PJ Washington hurt his foot. In what is the most detailed injury update we’ve heard thus far, yesterday, PJ told CBS’ Jamie Erdahl that the injury occurred with two minutes left in the Tennessee game. “He went up in the air and landed on the balls of his feet as all athletes do. He said he heard something pop in that left foot. He played the rest of the game. It started to swell during the Selection Show on Sunday at Calipari’s house after which they put him in that boot. He went to see a foot specialist in Green Bay, Wisconsin on Wednesday, where they just decided it was best to leave that foot alone and let it calm down on that left side. He said he has not experienced a pain like this before in that left foot. He said he won’t play today. He will wait until maybe Tuesday or Wednesday for them to take that cast off of his foot but as far as he knows it’s still being called a left foot sprain.” Win it for PJ.
quote:

I have personally watched the last 5 minutes of the Tenn game at least 10 times and do not for one minute believe a word of what PJ is talking about. No signs of any injury. And why would he go to Green Bay Wisconsin to see a foot doctor for a cast? Doesn't UK have access to any good foot doctors in Lexington.

Handy, you are old school, love your response, very good one, got a good laugh out of it. Thanks.

Travis may have been a big reason we won today, but there are way too many times where he plays like a freshman. That 15-footer he took - i'm still shaking my head in disbelief. I thought he was a lot smarter than that.
