This must mean that they paid the refs to be one sided and that they will put a few of Kentucky's players in early foul trouble and the corn stalks get away with murder. [ 03-19-2017, 10:54 AM: Message edited by: boomdaddy ]

Just something for the media to write about. I remember a few years ago we were playing WVU in the second round and they were running their mouths. We doubled them up 78-39. I hope we do the same to Wichita.

At least none of our players are doing any trash talking, I prefer that. I watched the Wichita State/Dayton game the other night and to be honest, I was hoping we would play Wichita State than I was Dayton for some reason on another, had nothing to do with seeding but more to do with physical match ups, team speed etc.

I've said it right from the get go, this game scares me. If our Wildcats take this game as lightly as some of our fans, I think we our in big trouble. Wichita State is no slouch and how in the world they were seeded as low by the committee is a mystery to me. I hope we beat them by 50 and I can look as ignorant as usual. We barely survived Northern Kentucky. If we don't play our A game today, we are done. That gets increasingly true should we manage to win.
We were firing on all cylinders towards the end of the regular season, then we hit the "Monk funk", but we still managed to pull out wins with Fox, Hawkins, Willis, and Bam stepping up their games. But Fox and Hawkins didn't play well on Friday, and it showed how vulnerable we can be.
Honestly, we just need for Monk to start hitting shots again. That will fix a lot of the confidence issues on the team, and allow players to stop trying to over-reach to compensate for Monk's scoring drought. We are playing 4-on-5 with Monk in the game, and 3-on-5 when Wenyard or Humphries are in there. If Monk gives us 16-20 points, I fear nobody. But if Monk keeps tossing up air balls and bricks, we could lose any game.

Very true, because if Monk isn't hitting shots... he is no help on defense. He needs to shoot well to validate his time on the floor.

Monk plays well and our chances go way up. I bet he has a good game today.
