“I like the fact that we fought, and I said to De’Aaron Fox, ‘Hey, man, when you come back, you better be to the level of these guys, fighting. That’s where you need to be,’ ” coach John Calipari said. “Think about it: We shot 28 percent at halftime, we must have missed nine layups, and we’re in a tie game. That means you’re fighting. That means you’re giving yourself a chance to win.
“This is about getting us right for this late-season run, and you all know, the second half we showed, ‘Wow, if they play that way, they’re going to be fine.’ Now, can that be us? If we’re this team, I like what I’m seeing.”

I have never prayed for the outcome of any ball game, not even dUKe. I figure God loves us all equally, yes even dook, and just let it go at that. There are bigger fish to fry. If that makes me weird in your eye, sorry.

I'm like Norm, I never pray for the outcome of a game...... but I do from time to time pray that dook and Louisville players come down with a 3 day case of the hershey trots, 2 days before game day...

It was a great win yesterday. I thought Dom Hawkins was great. He disrupted the Gators offense with his on ball pressure and he fought to go over the top of almost every every pick and roll screen the Florida set instead of taking the easy under or the switch.
That is how you play defense. Hopefully Fox was paying attention on the bench, because he likes to go under the pick and roll because it is easy.
-------------------- Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

When we played them in Florida, Kasey Hill looked like an all American point guard against Fox and others. Hawkins and Briscoe combined to frustrate him, take him and the Florida offense totally out of the game. That was the best defensive effort I have seen all season long and as we all know, winning championships starts with strong defense.

I should add, don't take my comments as not liking Fox. I think he is a heck of a player. That is just the difference of having a Senior that has been through the wars versus a Freshman that has not.
I'm sure the coaching staff has instructed him to play defense the way Hawkins was doing, but sometimes seeing it over extended minutes is better than just verbally hearing a coach tell you how to play the pick and roll.
