Would anyone here have guessed we'd be playing for a national title on the final MOnday of the season?

Nope! I was driving home from the SC game wondering if we'd even win a game in the SEC tournament!

I'm just an overly positive person, and I never counted them out.

No way they looked terrible and still can't figure out what happened but ever it was they should bottle it.

I was lumping this year with last year. I ignored the last three regular season and the SEC tournament. I was encouraged enough by the close UF game so I reluctantly watched the K-State game. After that I was purely sucked in!

I said all year that UK had the most talent so they would have a chance no matter their seed because there were no truly dominant teams in the tournament.
I started to doubt a little after the USC game much like Russ, but was back after the SEC tournament play. I didn't like their draw against Wichita State, who I still think UK may only beat 1 out of every 4 or 5 games, but once they won that their match ups have been favorable IMO. I thought Wisconsin was their toughest match up since WSU, but they played Kaminsky very well on the defensive end. [ 04-06-2014, 12:48 AM: Message edited by: Trey Ball ]
-------------------- Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

A month ago I would have considered playing in the elite 8 a successful season after our very average year. I want another National Championship but this has already far exceeded my expectations from a month ago. [ 04-06-2014, 08:55 AM: Message edited by: handycat ]

What are some goods names for this team that you all have seen or come up with? My brother and I were discussing this after the game last night. A few we talked about that we had heard or made up were; the Tweakables, Destinies Children, the Divine Nine (played 9 players last night and probably will play very close to that Monday)

Born Blue, "divine 9" sounds like a good one but probably would be better to have a name where all the players were part of it. It's like ESPN coming up with the "Fabulous Freshmen" but we also have sophomores, juniors, and sophomores on the team too. Just my thoughts.

Someone called them the "comeback kids" last night. I kind of liked that.

That was the name of the '98 team as well, I believe.

A month ago I thought we would be done in the first round. After the sec tournament I did have us beating whichita state, but I really would have been pleased with that. At the beginning of the year I predicted a sweet sixteen appearance, maybe elite 8. I never even considered final four. This has been a great ride and a lot of fun to see this team reach their potential and play as a team. It took a long time but they finally bought in and got "it" at the right time. I would love to get some revenge on Uconn for 2011. And I give Cal credit for changing his handling of the team and adapting at the right time. I truly believe that has been the major thing that turned this team around.

I think "The turn it on cats" would be appropriate. I can watch the replays of the last 7 games or so and can see it very plainly. When they start slowing it down and don't play good defense we get behind. Then they get scared they are going to lose and they turn the intensity up. Next thing you know they have caught up again. Early in the season they weren't doing that. They never seemed to think they could lose and all they had to do was play their individual game and everything would be alright. Finally I think Cal got thru to them, for the most part. They still have a problem playing hard for 40 minutes though.
