Numbers don’t always tell the full story, but they don’t lie.
Barrett Sallee of CBS Sports has found that based on preseason predictions from the SEC Media and actual results, the Kentucky Wildcats and Mississippi State Bulldogs are tied as the most underrated teams’ in the conference since it expanded to add Texas A&M and Missouri in 2012.
Sallee has found that both Kentucky and Mississippi State has won nine more games than the media has projected them to since 2012, while the most overhyped teams are South Carolina, who have lost eight games more than they were projected to and Auburn who has lost five more.
Much of the Wildcats’ success has come over the past four seasons as they have finished above .500 and reached bowl games each season since 2016.
The previous two, have been among the best seasons’ in school history as the Cats went a combined 18-8 in 2018 and 2019 with bowl wins over Penn State and Virginia Tech.
While SEC Media Day’s were canceled due to COVID-19 not allowing these type of projections, the oddsmakers continue to sleep on the Cats with many outlets projecting a four to five-win season for Mark Stoops’ squad.

I would bet on a 6-win season. Might have to do that...

We may have to settle for a 4-6 season. Don't think Terry will be the starter by the end of the season. Beau Allen may get a chance if we get behind at home against Ole Miss. We had a lot of guys just not ready to play on Saturday or else they have been blowing smoke at us for months mow. We'll just have to wait and see what they do against a good Ole Miss team on Saturday. I'll be there cheering them on from the corner of the end zone.
