Bowl season is nearly here, and the Kentucky Wildcats will meet the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Citrus Bowl at Camping World Stadium in Orlando.
With weapons like Trace McSorley, Miles Sanders, and K.J. Hamler, it may look like Penn State has the clear advantage on offense. The Nittany Lions ranked sixth in the Big Ten with 424 yards per game. Kentucky, on the other hand, ranked 12th in the SEC with 366 yards per game. That appears to be a mismatch, but 247Sports college football expert Barton Simmons isn’t so sure.
Simmons took up for the Kentucky offense on the Cover 3 Podcast. While the Wildcats may not put up flashy numbers of light up the scoreboard, they still figure out a way to move the football and win games. Simmons credited offensive coordinator Eddie Gran for playing to the strengths of the players on the Wildcats’ offense.
