After spending five years as Indiana’s head strength and conditioning coach, Mark Hill will join the Kentucky football staff as the assistant strength and conditioning coach according to Jen Smith of the Herald-Leader. Hill’s past includes stops at Oklahoma, Arizona and Minnesota.

Hill will make $200,000 a year, $4,000 less than the head strength coach, Corey Edmund. Mark Stoops mentioned some other contractual upgrades during last week’s press conference. Today we learned from UK’s Office of Legal Counsel that Derrick Ansley will make $375,000 annually through 2019 and Andy Buh will make $325,000 a year through 2018.

The new hires and offseason raises have cost UK a pretty penny — approximately a half million dollars.

Bama, I think you nailed it, 4 maybe 5 wins next season. Playing in the best football conference in the country does make it tough for the Cats.

How many strength and condition coaches, dieticians, and high performance gurus does it take to get a 400lb player with pro potential to get in shape and get down to 350lb, so he can stay on the field?

I don't know the answer to that question, but I hope the staff has the right number of people to pursuade a certain player to get fit, so he can fulfill his dreams and perhaps make his mark while he in college as well.
