Not only did Drake Jackson, Landon Young and Kash Daniel all play well in Saturday's Army All-American Game in San Antonio, but the Kentucky trio made a big impression off the field, too.
Daniel and Jackson were both picked as team captains in a vote by their teammates just two days after the players reported for practice.
"We all three pride ourselves on leadership. I think our teammates saw that early," said Jackson.
All three players are Kentucky commits and Jackson, an offensive lineman from Woodford County, and Daniel, a linebacker from Paintsville, will enroll at UK this week. Young, an offensive lineman from Lafayette, will enroll in June. Young also could have played himself into a rare five-star rating with his practice/play in San Antonio.

Hopefully this is sign that our recruiting is getting better. Our talent level way to far below most all other SEC teams.

It is nice to see nationally ranked in state players come to UK. When was the last time the state of Kentucky had three big time players in one class? Not sure who the star players in next years class are, but Jedrick Wilis, the team mate of Landon Young has to be the #1 ranked player in the state as least as far as major programs offering schollies.
Hopefully, the new OC and the QB coach can get the team over the hump on wins and losses, so recruiting can keep progressing as well.
