To try and avoid a repeat of last year's six-game losing skid to end the season, Kentucky coach Mark Stoops said he has looked at all options this week.

That includes evaluating UK's practice schedule.

"I’ve really done a lot of research this week to see how many reps people are taking, friends throughout the country, even friends throughout the conference that I have," Stoops said on the SEC coaches teleconference Wednesday.

"Looking at all things that we’re doing: Our practice schedule, what we’re doing weekly, the positions we’re putting our players in to be successful, whether we’re doing too much or too little. I have to look at it.

"But I think a big part of it is mental and making sure we have a stronger mental approach. We have to be physically and mentally mature enough to handle this type of schedule. We’ve gone through a tough stretch where part of it this past three or four weeks, we haven’t handled very well. So we need to bounce back and again, make sure we have the mental toughness to finish out this season and have a great week this week.”

Evaluating my own options for the Vandy game:

I know I sound like a fair weather fan, but I would have gone to Nashville for the Vandy game, if the Cats were playing better.

Their offense is so bad, I can't see myself going down there to watch what could be another train wreck.

I will watch it on tv, but would love to drive down, see the game, and go see some live music.

But, if I go down there and they play horrible, I won't be in a good mood.

Boom, you never know we could have a great game and beat Vandy. We should win against a 1-4 SEC team but the way we have been playing we sure can't count on a win.
