Kentucky is only days removed from a deflating 52-21 loss to Tennessee.

You wouldn’t know it from watching the Wildcats practice on Tuesday.

“On a Tuesday after you lose like that, it’s hard,” quarterback Patrick Towles said. “It’s hard to come back to work. But I expect that from my guys and from my team and we did that today. We responded well.”

Mikel Horton, atop the depth chart at running back in place of the injured Boom Williams, was even more excited about the session.

“Great practice today,” Horton said. “Probably one of the best ones we had all year.”

The good practice was no accident, as it came only hours after Towles and senior linebacker Josh Forrest called a players-only team meeting. Mired in a three-game losing streak that has dropped the Cats to 4-4, the two leaders stepped up.

“We just wanted to get everybody together and talk about some important stuff and make sure we were all on the same page,” Towles said it was very productive."

I would also like to have the starting QB tested for color blindness, since he seems to have trouble differentiation between Kentucky jerseys and what the opponents are wearing.

We have the 12th worst record in the SEC for total defense for 2015. We have given up over 414 yards per game.

Towles on the other hand is the 4th best passer in the SEC in total yardage with 1914 yards and has the third most completions in the SEC. I guarantee you his stats would be a whole lot better if his protection was as good as most of the other SEC teams.

The int against UT was just careless, as was the one in the end zone that kept 7 points from going on the board in a previous game.

The O line is not playing the greatest, I agree to that. But, the QB is responsible for reading the D, noticing when the blitz is coming, calling for a hot route, and getting rid of the ball quickly in that situation. Being a 2nd year starter, one has to question if he really gets it.

I remember when Bret Favre of the Packers used to just chuck the ball and give up careless ints. But, with all of his crazy plays, he put points on the board. If you don't put points on the board, your team can't recover when you make bone head ints.
