I hope each and everyone of them has not only has talent but the desire and drive to be the best they can be.

Kentucky already has 25 football commitments for the Class of 2014, but Coach Mark Stoops isn’t done yet.

“We need 28 players, I promise you,” Stoops said Tuesday. “So we’re going to try to get 28.”

The UK coach pointed out that 28 is the maximum number of scholarships that schools are permitted to give out in a single class.

Ohio wide receiver Dorian Baker became the 25th commitment to UK’s recruiting class over the weekend, but some big targets remain.

The obvious one is John Hardin defensive tackle Matt Elam, who will take his official visit to Kentucky on Dec. 13 and make his college decision Jan. 4. UK is hoping to flip Ohio State commitment Marcelys Jones, one of the best offensive linemen in the senior class. Others who have been mentioned as possible additions include Ohio’s No. 1 prospect Marshon Lattimore (though he’s a long shot) and junior college offensive tackle Avery Gennesy, who plays for the same school that produced Za’Darius Smith.

“I think we’re constantly looking to improve at O-line and D-line, getting some more size, some big bodies in there,” Stoops said.

You can bet the staff is out there looking for the best players that have not committed. They will fill those scholarships we can bet on that.

Technically Ky can sign more than 28 if some sign financial aid agreement than a NLI. I know UK is going after a Bama commit and OSU commit and his teammate.
