Name a few that you would like to see as HC and then name who you think gets the job.

My top three picks are:

John Gruden, Petrino, and Sean Payton

Who I think gets the job: Sonny Dykes

My guess is it will be someone like Dykes, Koetter, Cutcliffe, or Fullmer.

Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

Here is the first 3 that I would seriously consider. 1. Willie Taggart 2. Sonny Dykes 3. Phillip Fullmer. I have heard from several Vols fans that no way Fullmer would ever have the nerve to go to Kentucky.

Don't want Petrino, Cutcliffe, Tubberville or Taggert. I hope he gets someone who can recruit. That is where our problem begins. It ain't as much about the X's and O's as it is the Jimmy's and Joe's.

Taggert would not be a good hire. No different than hiring Joker Phillips. Mitch needs to get someone better than that.

The only big names mentioned here are Petrino and Fulmer. I don't really think they will get the job. They would want to get more $$$ than Mitch will part with. The rest would be almost like keeping Joker. You have some up and comers but they don't have name recognition that would draw the recruits, but he may get them for a lower salary. My guess is we get another no name who will be around 3-4 years and we'll get another no name. Same o, same o, same o. So go ahead and surprise me Mitch. Spend the money and get someone who can get us a winning team in 2-3 years. Just like you did with Cal.

How about Pat Fitzgerald from Northwestern? He has been winning at a school that is fairly tough to win at. Granted the Big 10 is no SEC, but he is a young coach who has had some success and might open up some recruiting lines to Chicago and Big 10 country (just maybe). If not for Frank Solich's age (68), I think he would be a good candidate. I do not see Mike Leach leaving Washington State after 1 year, but he should be on the list.

I would take Fitzgerald. I think he has done a good job with very little to work with. Only problem, I'm not sure he would look at it as a step up in his career.

A name no one has thrown around here is Butch Jones from Cincinnati. He has been a proven winner since taking over from Brian Kelly and has that program at the top of the Big East.

Now, I am not in anyway comparing the Big East to the SEC, but I think Jones is able to get talented players in to a program where it is not easy to recruit. He would be able to tap into the SW Ohio pipeline of talent which over the course of the last 10-15 yrs has been pretty darn good.

In addition, he recruited Toweles awfully hard and would have an immediate connnection with Pat. I think that would go a long way in Towles being successful.
