After four successful stops on the GAM3DAY READY Tour, University of Kentucky football head coach Joker Phillips has added a fifth stop, traveling to his hometown of Franklin, Ky., on Sunday, July 11 to complete the tour.

The event will take place in Lincoln Park in Franklin with registration starting at 1 p.m. and football activities starting at 2 p.m. and running for about 90 minutes. All times are local and admission to the event is free.

“I knew after we made our first stop in Hyden that I wanted to take this event to my hometown of Franklin,” Phillips said. “This tour has been fun and rewarding not only for the kids that come out and participate but also for me. I cannot wait to go back to where I grew up and spend some time with the youth there.”

The events are open to youth entering their eighth-grade year or below. Youth will get to participate in various football skills and related drills (punt, pass, kick, 40-yard dash, vertical jump, etc.).

Each participating youth will receive a free GAM3DAY READY gear pack that includes a shirt, water bottle and other UK items (while supplies last). There also will be a post-event snack for the youth and Coach Phillips will address the crowd.

The football activities are intended for children seven years of age to those entering the eighth grade. However, the event will have a family friendly atmosphere with music, giant inflatable games and other activities for children age six and under.

The GAM3DAY READY Tour recently completed its original four-stop schedule with very successful stops in Hyden, Central City, Danville and Louisville. Overall, around 400 kids came out to participate in the event.
