I might be Mike Leach but i doubt it with his baggage and the recent problems Tennessee has had. My bet would be David Cutliff from Duke or possibly even Petrino might be contcted along with Peterson from Boise State.

Muschamp and John Gruden would make sense. They talked with both last time and now Gruden is out of work (with a wife who was a UT cheerleader).

Tennessee needs to make a quick splash if the AD wants to keep his job.

I heard that the UT boosters were burning up Urban Meyer's phone last night.

But I doubt that Meyer will take the job. It would have to be one hell of a package for UT to put together to get Meyer.

David Cutcliffe

Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

I just can't see Cutcliffe. He left UT once before, supposedly because of health concerns. Then went to Ole Miss and then Duke. I just cannot see him as being the hire UT would want.

Reports out of Knoxville are that they are making another run at Will Muschamp at Texas, but word is that he is not interested.

bayer,

The only reason I think they may go after him is because I wouldn't be surprised if they want someone who has been close to the program after getting burned by this whole Kiffin situation.

I think they may become a little gun shy about hiring another "outsider" of the program.

Pure speculation on my part.

I understand and good reasoning, but my guess is mostly they are going to want someone who they believe can get them back to the level they once had. I'm not sure he can do that.

Looks like Muschamp of Texas is the next target.
