Peters is so good that coach Spurrier did not call plays in his direction..
The SEC released their weekly awards this morning and UK defensive tackle Corey Peters was named as the SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week for his stellar performance against South Carolina on Saturday. The senior from Louisville championed a pass rush that appeared to be effective for the first time all season against the Gamecocks with 7 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss (2.5 sacks). In addition to Peters, quarterback wide receiver football player Randall Cobb was named as one of the Other Outstanding Performances for his 229 total yards of offense and two touchdowns. Not surprisingly, Gamecock receiver Alshon Jeffery was named Freshman of the Week.

Peters is always so underrated. If you ask me, the Defensive Tackle is the most underrated defensive position. D-Ends always get the ink because of the amount of sacks they get, but a good DT like Peters can collapse the pockets and completely stop the interior run game almost single handedly. He has been such an intrical part of our success in recent years

Your so right about Peters being underrated. I bet if you asked anyone of the Kentucky coachs about Peters they would say the same thing you did. He will have a chance to play on Sundays after he graduates as they like 295 pound tackles that move like linebackers.
