If true this would really hurt..
We’ll just skip out on the links this morning, but WHAS is reporting that quarterback Mike Hartline has been lost for the season. The junior’s knee rolled up under a Gamecock defender and he did not return. He was replaced by Will Fidler and Randall Cobb.

Here is the WHAS story.
A source close to the University of Kentucky football team tells WHAS11 that quarterback Mike Hartline will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.
Hartline injured his left knee against South Carolina on Saturday when he was taken down after a pass and his knee buckled under him.
UK says it is a sprained left knee and he will be evaluated this week. Will Fidler and Randall Cobb replaced Hartline at quarterback for the remainder of the game.

Not surprised. After looking at the play over and over, it was clear his left knee received more than a "twist." Looks more like MCL tear.

Well guys, I didn't get to see or listen to the SC game because of work. But Hartline's injury doesn't sound good at all. I really think we will have to get Randall Cobb even more involved in the offense. I don't have much confidence in either Fidler or Newton at this point. Cobb is our best option. Hell, he's our best player, why not use him as much as possible. Coach Brooks has got to get rid of his stubborn streak and play Randall at QB. And it's time for Matthews and the other receivers to step up. I still think we can win 5 games this season if we can keep the injury bug from biting us any more and get back some of the players who are already injured.

If I remember correctly, the sad part is the play should have been blown dead before it happened. UK was called for a delay of game but the official never stopped the play. [ 10-12-2009, 11:14 AM: Message edited by: oddball ]
