They are 2 of the best in the class..

Kentucky coach Rich Brooks is finding the recruiting trail a little easier to navigate now that the Wildcats have won three straight bowl games for the first time in school history.

UK unveiled its 2009 recruiting class Wednesday, and the Cats' quarterback of the future may soon be the quarterback of the present.

Arguably the best incoming class of Brooks' tenure is highlighted by quarterback Morgan Newton, who was named Indiana's Mr. Football after a senior season in which he combined for more than 3,600 yards and 48 touchdowns.

While not calling Newton the favorite to beat out incumbents Mike Hartline and Randall Cobb next fall, Brooks admits it may be hard to keep Newton off the field.

"He is one of the more impressive playmakers that I have seen on film in recent years," Brooks said. "He has the physical size and strength to be a factor as a true freshman."

The Wildcats also signed quarterback Ryan Mossakowski from Centennial High in Frisco, Texas. Both are big - each is listed at 6-foot-4 - and can make plays with their feet. Newton rushed for 1,664 yards and 26 touchdowns last year while Mossakowski ran for 19 scores during his career. Their mobility could come in handy behind an offensive line that will have to replace two starters.

If either can play next year, it could free up Cobb to bolster the team's inconsistent receiving corps, though Brooks signed five wideouts in an effort to find a playmaker the Wildcats sorely lacked.
