It's good to see that coach Brooks takes the time to let the players have some enjoyment as well as having the long hard parctice sessions. The more i hear about coach Brooks the more i like him...

Michael Phelps isn't the only one making a big splash in the pool these days.

Mike Schwindel is pushing for playing time at weakside linebacker behind Braxton Kelley.
The Kentucky football team got a break from the rigors of fall camp and a week that featured some challenging two-a-day workouts by holding their annual swimming party at a local pool.

The outing -- which included some of Rich Brooks' patented board work and some spirited relay races -- seemed to help lighten the mood and give the team a chance to get their minds off the aches and pains normally associated with this stage of camp.

"Dicky Lyons, he is a swimmer," said sophomore quarterback Mike Hartline. "We had a little relay race out there and it was me, Jayce Long, him and Ross Bogue against some chumps. We destroyed them. Dicky let them catch up to him and get halfway down the pool and then caught him with a butterfly stroke. He's a heck of a swimmer and can hold his breath for i don't know how long. He was our guy out there doing everything. (Bogue) and i both grew up swimming so it was a good experience and we had a little fun.

"(Brooks) was on the diving board watching us swim, but a lot of guys were breaking out the doggy paddle a little too much so he had a good time making fun of them. A lot of these guys can't swim so they bring out these big rafts and float on them but our guys want to play around too much so they don't stay on them very long."

After a bit of comic relief, it was back to business in the afternoon session.
