Woodson is special and is turning out to be another Tim Couch. He may even be better by the end of the season. He has had a amazing transformation since he he showed up as a unheralded freshman.

Quarterback Andre' Woodson has been selected as the AT&T All-America Player of the Week for his performance in the 40-34 win over Louisville.
The honor was done in a nationwide vote of fans, which concluded Wednesday night and was announced during Thursday night’s Texas A&M at Miami game. Against the Cardinals, Woodson completed 30 of 44 passes for 275 yards and four touchdowns.

“AT&T congratulates André for his tremendous performance for the University of Kentucky football team last week, and we wish him the best of luck throughout the season,” said Dave Garver, executive director of business development and wireless sponsorships for AT&T’s wireless unit. “College football draws the most passionate fans, and this award gives them the chance to select the AT&T All-America Player of the Week all season long.”

I don't think Woodson was an unheralded freshman. If I remember correctly he was invited to the Elite 11 Quarterback camp before coming to UK. That is a pretty darn prestigous invite.

I also think he was a high school All-American and ranked in the Top 10 in high school quarterbacks. It was a big deal when he decided to come to UK instead of go to a big time school from what I recall.

On ESPN or ABC tonight Desmond Howard had Andre listed at #2 in the Heisman race.
