What I think: There is no reason to believe the Kentucky football head coaching job will (or should) open in the next few years. Still, when Kent State visits UK on Saturday, there will be a rather intriguing coaching succession sub-plot involving the ex-Cat teammates.

If Martin, the Kent State head coach, has any aspirations of ever being head coach at his alma mater, Saturday could be huge.

If, and when that job comes open there is only one man for the job and it has to be Joker Phillips. He has deserved that honor and hopefully it will happen sometime in the future...
