But Johnson couldn't always stay on the field (he started twice in 13 games), and with 29 tackles -- none for losses -- he wasn't the big-play specialist his impressive high school credentials indicated.
"It's hard as a freshman coming in, especially with all those expectations," senior linebacker Wesley Woodyard said. "He's obviously a great physical being. He just had to grasp the mental aspects of making plays."
