Josh Winchell’s path to Lexington is a unique one. A former high school prep star, Winchell was recruited by seemingly everyone across the map. Tennessee, Michigan, Nebraska, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Memphis and Mississippi State were just a handful of players that offered Winchell as a high school senior in 2004

Catmandoo with the new recruits and the redshirts I think we will play with anyone next year. Should be better than this year. But they will still be calling for Brooks head. Just can't please alll.

eleem, 10-4 on not pleasing everyone, we could have beat tenneesee in our last game and we still would have had posters complaining. i used to get upset with the complainers and after years of it i now really feel sorry for them. it's my now opinion that their lives must be awfully tough and this is a way of getting rid of their frustrations...football and basketball are games played by student athletes and coached by men that are great human beings. and if we can't back them we really must have problems...

I'll complain every time our team gives up 450+ yards of offense to virtually everybody. Tennessee was one of the exceptions to that this year. I think Brooks deserves to stay as coach, but I dare anyone to defend Archer based on our defense's performances over the last 3-4 years. I'm tired of having to score 30+ points just to stay in football games. We have an nice offense, and I want a good defense to go along with it.

I was willing to give Brooks his 4 years to put something together at UK before I started to allow myself to doubt his ability.
I'll admit that I was skeptical of his hiring as I didn't think he would have the drive and energy to put together a decent program in 4 years.
I'm more than happy to admit that Coach Brooks proved me wrong in my initial assesment of him and I couldn't be happier about being wrong about him.
Mike Archer on the other hand...
1 decent defensive showing on the last game of the regular season, even if the opponent is UT, just isn't going to cut it. Having your defense ranked dead last overall at one point during the season and finish up pretty close to dead last in the country isn't going to impress anybody.
Brooks has earned his paycheck...it's time to upgrade the DC though.
