To an extent unusual in his cut-throat profession -- and in stark contrast to the actions of some of his immediate predecessors at UK -- Brooks has consistently comported himself with honor in how he's dealt with the players and assistant coaches who have trusted their futures to him.

Brooks hasn't put his own fate ahead of the long-term best interests of his players.

brooks is a fine gentleman but sometimes even that makes little differance when your a coach and arn't winning enough to keep the fan base happy. it's just a fact of life.
