No wonder Brooks wanted to move UK-U of L to the third week of the season. The way his team opened the game, it appeared the Cats might not realize the season had actually started until the third game.

"They hit us," Brooks said, "instead of us hitting them."

The Cats didn't just fail to answer the opening bell, they denied the existence of one.

Mike Archer has masqueraded long enough as a defensive coordinator. His run defense is the biggest joke I've seen in the 30+ years following this team. Why oh why do we HAVE to endure the SOS time after time after time. It's so grossly unfair to the fans it sickens me.

it was the first game and against a very good team. keep the faith and give them a fair chance. i know that's extremely hard to do after all the terrible games we have seen for a long time but they deserve at least a few more games to prove themselves as we do have some excellant young players that need some time to blossum..

The offense took a giant step forward. The defense stayed the same. The only downside to the offense was that they couldn't put a sustained drive together. ESPN put up a graphic that said UK average scoring drive was 43 seconds. Now, it's great that they scored points, but the defense doesn't get a chance to get a breather before it has to go out on the field again. They don't get a chance to get together with the defensive coaches and discuss strategy and what the other teams offense is doing and how they want to defense them.

Of course, you can't allow yourself to get down by 31 points before you start to play the game either.

Louisville looked solid but not overly dominate. There is no reason why UK's defense should have given up nearly 400 yards rushing. That's what irks me to no end. The 59 points doesn't concern me as much as not putting helmets and shoulder pads on people and tackeling the ball carrier.

UL's O-Line was terrific last night. And that pisses me off to no end.

Brohm had an ok game by individual standards. The O-Line had a lot to do with making him look good. Same with Bush before he got injured, and the backups that replaced him.

It's to bad about Bush. I'm wondering if he will redshirt.

Safety and peace be with you always.
