Kentucky added an oral commitment yesterday from Jackson, Ga., wide receiver John Keye. The 6-foot-4, 222-pound Keye had an offer from U of L and also drew interest from Auburn, Georgia, Clemson and Michigan.

Keye is the second player from Georgia to commit to the Wildcats, joining Hartwell defensive lineman Shane McCord.

UK's other commitments include Indianapolis defensive lineman Jeff Boyd, Monroe County offensive lineman Billy Joe Murphy and Duran Jefferson of Covington Holmes.

I think Keyes decision must have actually been made a while before the announcement. During the SEC media chats, Brooks mentioned that we had 5 commits so far---and there were only 4 actually announced at that time. Then a couple of days later Keyes is announced. I never do understand the logic/thinking behind holding back announcements like that for a few days. I really don't think it influences other potential recruits.

Anyhow, I don't really care how they announce or not just so long as our talent base keeps getting stronger, as it's done the last couple of years. It's a tough catch 22 that a team like UK can get caught up in: you can't win because you don't have the talent and you can't get the talent because you can't win.

In spite of this difficulty and lack of wins, we've gotten talent. Now this is the season that we get the wins. And as good as our recruiting has been without wins, just think how much better it's going to be when we're winning!!
